The TechniSat TechniStar S6 is a digital HDTV satellite receiver with a width scala of features and other advantages. For the reception of Pay-TV the TechniStar S6 has a Common Interface (CI+) slot. This interface allows the use of other decoding systems.
The TechniStar S6 is also DVR-ready and supports the TechniFamily-function. With the DVR-ready function programs can be recorded on an external storage medium, like an USB hard disk).
The TechniFamily-function can be used to create different user account on the set-top box. In this way different users can be created with each their own amount of time for instance to watch tv on a daily base and to which channels may be watched.

AutoInstall When the TechniStar S6 is used for the first time, a few important settings need to be done (for instance the setting of local conditions). In easy steps the Installation Wizard of TechniSat will guide you through the various steps and dialogue windows, so the required configurations can be done fast and easy. Your TechniStar S6 is ready for use in a very short time in this way. |

TechniFamily With TechniFamily you can create password protected user profiles. For each profile individual access options and limitations can be defined, for instance access to certain content of the total allowed time of watching TV. This allows parents to control the time children can watch TV for instance. |

HDTV HDTV stands for tv with a high resolution and therefor for an excellent image quality. In HDTV images are more detailled and displayed with much finer nuances. Contrast and contours are more accurate and colours are more natural. |

DVR With an integrated digital video recorder (DVR) digital tv- and radio programs can be recorded without quality loss. It's also possible to pause 'live' tv programs (timeschift), for instance when you want to get a cup of coffee and miss nothing of your favourite program of football game. |

Timeshift With this function 'live' TV programs can be paused and restarted whenever you want. With timeshifting it's also possible to repeat scenes or to pass particular scenes. The start and process of a program can be determined yourself with timeshift. |

CI+ This set-top box has Common Interface (CI+) slot. In combination with a CI+ module and smartCard you can get access to PayTV or PayRadio. |

Camping This set-top box is based on a 230V and 12V power supply. For mobile use of the set-top box, for instance during camping or to watch satellite tv in you mobile home or motorhome. |
